We have been busy re-designing the fly fishing rod section of troutfishing.co.uk and adding all of the latest products. We hope that you will agree that displaying these products in their respective weight catagories will aid you in selecting the products that suit you best.
As a guide, #4 and #5 are best suited to lighter river fishing, #6 and #7 to medium and larger stilwaters and #8 and #9 for larger fish in big reservoirs and for pike and other large species. Most fly rods will accept lines either side of their ideal weight. For small and medium sized stillwaters, a weight #6/#7 fly rod would be ideal. However, a weight #7 line would be a lot less delicate than say, a nice #6 double taper line. You will not be able to cast the lighter line as great a distance, but it will cause less disturbance on the water, so is likely to catch more fish.
Our ever increasing range of fly rods are usually in stock for immediate dispatch. Our fly rod brands now include Snowbee Prestige and Zircon, Rimfly, Cortland, Wychwood Sharp Shooter, Powerhead, Masterline XL and Leeda Truflex and Mayfly.
